Tl* the contact owns a 2002 chevrolet malibu. The contact stated that the turn signal and hazard switch malfunctioned and could not be activated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the signal switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Turn signals and hazard lights work when they want to, which began last year 07/07. I replaced fuses to see if this was the problem. It continues to happen. After almost being rear-ended with my infant son in a carseat the back seat as my turn signals flashed twice and failed i found out later there had been a recall on the hazard/turn switch on the 2000 models of malibu and not the 99's. *tr

This is a major safety hazard while driving. It also will not meet the state inspection requirements.
