Has issues that are recalled on other 2000 malibu's. Blinkers stopped working on & off one day. Then stopped totally next day, changed fuse nothing helped. Doesn't even show on instrument panel. Car refuses to start at times, takes any where from 3-5 tries to start. Also had recall done on ignition, didn't help, i replaced whole ignition switch after the dealer 'fixed' it. Battery kepted on draining before that.

Chevy issued a recall (14350) which states they will repair my ignition keys. They also have a recall for other chevy vehicles that not only repair the keys, but replace the ignition switch and key cylinder. My cylinder and switch are damaged, so far i have gone through an alternator and battery trying to isolate th problem which shows on the scanner as being the cylinder and the switch. The paint on hood started chipping @ or about 30k dealer said not warranty problem. Beginning apr 2002 car intermitantly has had a "surging" immediately after starting & putting in gear.
